Dan + Kathryn

The 5th Floor, Ogden Utah

Dan & Katheryn had to reimagine their wedding day due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They opted to have an intimate wedding at the 5th Floor in Ogden, Utah. The only guests were their closest family and friends. We had to push the initial date a couple of times until the couple ultimately decided on having an intimate wedding instead of a large gathering. They had a live stream set up for those who could not make it due to health concerns and travel restrictions. They required all of their guests to have masks on the entire time to ensure everyone was as safe as possible. Weddings now look a little different, but that’s okay. I love that people are finding creative ways to celebrate their love while keeping their loved ones safe. The live stream was such a great addition that I could see that other weddings adopt when larger groups can safely gather again.

The 5th Floor was a perfect venue for such an occasion with its beautiful white brick and gorgeous window lighting. The plant-covered studio wall was also a nice touch. There are also ample places to take couple photos in and around the building. Kathryn loves film and the look it brings to images, so she asked if I would shoot hybrid. Meaning, shooting film and digital for the wedding day. I am really stoked with how both the film and digital images came out.
I look forward to capturing their celebration later in 2021, barring any significant changes with COVID.
